Export a document

iA Writer for Mac lets you export a document — including formatting — to HTML, RTF, Microsoft Word (.docx), and PDF formats. These are useful for importing into other applications, and sharing with people unfamiliar with iA Writer’s punctuation-based formatting.

Open iA Writer

Export to HTML, Microsoft Word (.docx), PDF, or RTF:

1. In iA Writer, choose File ➤ Export….
2. Select which document type to export to:
   • Web page (.html)
   • Microsoft Word (.docx)
   • Portable Document Format(.pdf)
   • Rich Text Format (.rtf)
3. Click Export to export your document.

Note: These exported documents use default styles, so they’re easy to import into other apps.
